About Me
Karenthia A. Barber has over 20 years of experience in organizational development, education/training and human resources. Her memberships include Association For Talent Development, Women In Communications, and National Association of Female. Ms. Barber received her undergraduate education at the University of Pittsburgh and completed her graduate studies at Penn State University, in addition to being a graduate of Leadership Maryland and Coach University.
Recognized as a world-class speaker, seasoned consultant, trainer and coach, she currently serves as an adjunct faculty member and president of Professional Development Associates, a consulting practice that provides coaching, consulting and education services to organizations. Under her leadership, the firm has provided a wide range of organizational development and training services including workshops, facilitating focus groups, seminars, and staff retreats and coaching.
Ms. Barber received her undergraduate education at the University of Pittsburgh and completed her graduate studies at Penn State University. She is a graduate of Leadership Maryland and Coach University. Her memberships include Association For Talent Development, Women In Communications, and National Association of Female Executives. She has served in leadership roles on the Baltimore City Foster Care Review Board, St Stephen’s Youth Center Board and Baltimore Neighborhoods, Inc., Stadium Place Board, The Weinberg YMCA Advisory Board, the NorthEast Community Organization (NECO) and Baltimore Votes.
She served as the first woman Chair of the Board of Trustees of Maryland Automobile Insurance.
The Daily Record named Ms. Barber one of the 2016 Maryland Top 100 Women in Maryland for her leadership accomplishments and community service.
Leadership Maryland honored her at the 25 th Anniversary celebration in October 2017 for her statewide leadership and impact. She is a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and The Baltimore (MD) Links, Inc.
Karenthia A. Barber has been recognized for her expertise in the areas of leadership, supervision, change management, communications, community engagement, cultural competency, among others.
Karenthia A. Barber has presented workshops and training sessions for over 200,000 individuals from all levels of an organization, representing a broad range of ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic diversity. Ms. Barber has taught at the university and community college level and has become a much sought after speaker at many professional conferences.
